This bread-without-bread is the best solution for those days when we feel like eating a sandwich for dinner, but our voice of reason tells us we should not.
Well, let’s prepare in the twinkling of an eye a healthy & high protein bun. But be careful what you will fill it with afterwards, don’t go for sausages and charcuterie!!
For a bun:
4 egg whites (120 gr.)
4 tablespoons of oat flakes (35 gr.)
4 tablespoons of grated carrot (40 gr.)
1 tablespoon of oregano (or other herbs to taste)
pinch of salt
Put all the ingredients into a blender and blend it.
Pour the mix into 2 round moulds (or “Tupperware” of about 12 cm) and cook it in the microwave for 1 or 2 minutes.
Take the bread dough out of the moulds and grill them in a very hot pan or sandwich toaster.
Once they become crunchy, you can prepare your sandwich with your favourite filling.
It would also be perfect as a savoury breakfast or brunch, don’t you think?
