Spiced roasted chickpeas

These roasted chickpeas are absolutely addictive. You cannot stop eating them, but no worries, they are very healthy and really easy to prepare, you just need 4 ingredients (literally) and an oven.

You can serve them as an appetizer, or as part of a tapas dinner, or add some of them to a salad…

Let’s start?

A tin of pre-cooked chickpeas

Spices:

  • turmeric
  • garlic powder
  • cinnamon
  • cumin

A tablespoon of olive oil

……..

Pre-heat the oven to 200 degrees.

Put the chickpeas into a colander, drain and rinse them -to get rid of the tin salty water.

Put them into a bowl and add the spices. (I put a good teaspoon of each spice.) Mix it.

Add a tablespoon of olive oil and mix again.

Put them on an oven tray with wax paper. – It’s important they are not piled up but well spread.

Bake them at 200 degrees for 20-25 min.

Take them out of the oven and leave them in a big plate to cool down.

Ready to eat!

 

Yesterday we ate them as an appetizer and they were a positive surprise for our guests. They loved them.

A secret: before serving, I reserved some of them to add to my salad tomorrow 😉
